Summertime Ambition

Last summer when I got my job, I made a list of the fun things I wanted to do in between. The biggest thing I did was completely redecorate my room (I may post about this later when I take an 'after' picture!)
Last Year's List

And it worked! I had an amazing summer with lots of lovely days out and a nice time spent with friends, family and the boyfriend. Some highlights....

This year, my summer is going to be busier, I've got two jobs and I've booked to go to Italy for 5 weeks to teach children. Here is this year's list, it has the potential to be just as good!

Silent Sunday- Plans for the Day.

The right profession!

Today was the first day in my new placement school. It's only a short placement for 'theme week' but we went into today to find out our theme and year group.
Mine is Year 3/4 and Past and Present-Toys so if you have any ideas do let me know!
Anyway, the school is Awesome! Literally amazing, it was built a couple of years ago so they planned in all these spare rooms like nurture rooms, sensory room, library, one to one room, rainbow room .etc. and it is HUGE, they have so much space to play and so many resources like outdoor tunnels and a pond. There is two year groups for each class which I haven't experienced before so today I swapped between the two year 4 classes.
I love year 4! The kids were independent and chatty and the work was actually interesting! One child, however, said he wasn't going to tell me his name because I'm a stranger and might rob his house, along with random comments like 'hello, my paediatrician wants me to put on weight.' I had a lovely day and am rather excited, I cannot wait to have my own class, I like the older year groups so much more.
One day I'd like one of these...

Listography-Products I couldn't live without

After working down a long list of products to the 5 essentials I had to consider how many could realistically be food products!

1. Chocolate- I seriously could not live without chocolate, I could eat plain biscuits and crisps for ever but I would miss chocolate. I crave chocolate when I eat cocoay things like Oreo cookies because they're not chocolatey enough!

2. Internet- Our electric was turned off today, I couldn't check facebook, blogger or my e-mail and couldn't google everything, I realised how addicted I am.

3. Teabags- So relaxing, I also crave the caffiene. I drink it to cool me down, to warm me up, to calm me down and to wake me up!

4. Make Up- I'd like to think I could live without it but it makes me feel so much better, plus I like experimenting with different looks on nights out. My next challenge is false eyelashes.

5. Bed- I love it! My favourite place ever, whether it's at home, at uni, on holiday or at the Boyfriend's- I love it, especially when the covers are nice and soft!

I have a song!

Ivy wrote me a song a few years ago and has re-recorded it- yay! click here for the explanation (and kind words).
It's about me, my quirks and our friendship. We've grown up since then (*cough* 'the male anatomy') but are still great friends through uni, love you Ivy and Thank you!

The Art of the Chocolatier

I came home again this weekend to pick up my car which has been repaired so it's good as new- yay!
My Mum had just bought one of these...
An electric chocolate melter, she'd seen them at Cadbury world and had her eye on them since because she loved the molten chocolate they give you to sample. So we decided to have some fun, we made dark chocolate crispie cakes, then mum dipped some marzipan for her friend and made some chocolate hearts for Dad.
Then it was my turn and I was very excited! I'd bought Galaxy chocolate and little raspberry pieces, cashew nuts, rice crispies, rainbow sprinkles and chocolate sprinkles. I filled the moulds with a random selection of bits and pieces then poured the melted chocolate on top.
Before chocolate...
when cooled...
and they were...Delicious! The Galaxy and Raspberry worked particularly well.

Mum has since made marzipan and jam chocolates and cappuccino chocolates with white chocolate tops and Green&Black's espresso chocolate bases.

Yesterday, I handed CV's out around my house to get a job for the summer and by the end of the day I had two potential jobs! One in a little garden centre tearoom and one behind a bar. Mum and Dad had been painting the kitchen all day so we went out for tea to celebrate. Dad had steak (he was rebelling against living in a veggie house!) and it was served raw on a 400 degrees saltstone so it cooked as you cut it! I went for veggie fajitas and had to battle the ultra spiciness, I managed but the ice cream for pudding helped!

Listography- Bad Combinations

Cleaning/ Assignments
I am currently supposed to be writing an assignment and as well as kate's listography distracting me my landlord also told me we had a house viewing today and I had to clean it top to bottom. Even without being told to, I suddenly notice everything that has to be done when I should be doing something else.

Curly Hair/ Wind
I went to the park the other day with relatively small tight curls in my hair, I returned with a triangle.

Trying to be good/ Cake/ Biscuits/ Dorritos
Once I've opened the packet it's just bad news!

Swimming/ Bruises
After my bike ordeal a few weeks ago I'm still sporting some pretty large bruises on my legs, much to the amusement of my friends when I went swimming last week.

Giving CV's out/ Wrong number
I gave out about 20 CV's in my area then realised I had given the wrong phone number and didn't even give an e-mail address. I decided to avoid the embarrassment and stop looking for a part time job!

The Gallery- Chilled Out

This is the park I visited a couple of days ago to play cards, drink cider and eat strawberries. I love summer, It reminds me of lying on the school field in breaks from college, eating ice lollies, sunbathing and having a good giggle with friends.

Perfect Rose Cake

I was just browsing some baking blogs and I found this.
If I can do this....

To Infinity and Beyond!

On Friday, I had a belated birthday celebration at my Uni Student Union. It was two weeks after my actual birthday because we were all away for easter and it was the first convenient time, I wasn't complaining, It feels like I had a two week long birthday :)
The theme was TOY STORY!
I was very happy to have Ivy Gilmore and Bizzle coming to visit me, friends from home. I decided to be Buzz Lightyear, I'd put quite a lot of effort into my outfit, I'd painted some cardboard wings and some white gloves. I'd sewn a couple of tops together and decorated it with the relevant 'buttons' .etc., I even painted my shoes! I was pretty pleased with my costume and added a laser button to my arm and painted my nails just in case I lost my gloves.
The party supplies were out, Including toy story cupcakes made by me (I piped them myself but bought a set to get the decorations) and vodka jelly shots.

People started arriving and I was pleased with the effort people put into the costumes apart from a few 'college Andy's (pfft!) we had another Buzz, 2 Wheezy's, a Mr Potato Head, Totoro, Rex, Bo Peep, a Soldier and the Surveillance Monkey. I got some presents too, a massive box of Jelly Belly's (see Silent Sunday) and a necklace from my housemates and a Woody pen and a Disney mug.
Anyway, the predrinks went well except that everyone was determined to get me drunk and regrettably I chose a creamy drink, urgh, never again. Anyway, once I got past that we headed of to the union and had lots of fun dancing until they chucked us out because of a fire alarm.
The next day was spent recovering but I had a great night and I am glad to everyone who came, especially Ivy and Bizz!

Mr Potato Head, Wheezy and I (minus gloves).

Listography- Simple Pleasures

I like this week's Listography, nothing 'expensive or hard to achieve' just simple pleasures in life.

1. Snuggling up to watch a movie- with my housemates or my parents but best of all with my boyfriend :)
2. An unexpected peck on the lips.
3. A walk on the Beach- best in the sun but not necessary, I love the calmness of the sea and walking in the sand.
4. A cup of tea and a chocolatey biscuit or a nice piece of cake.
5. Getting nice post- letters and cards make my day.
