Blogs to follow

Whilst taking my prolonged blogging break I never stopped reading blogs, I thought I'd share a few that I have loved reading regularly.

-Becky Bedbug
Becky not only inspires me as a great teacher (with an amazing work/life balance) but I also love reading her original and interesting posts. I look forward most of all to her FF (follow friday) posts and the re-occurance of dinosaurs! I also love her 365 photo updates, her 1001 list updates (as a fellow 1001 list-er) and her 'day in the life' posts.

-Vivianna Does Makeup
I love reading Anna's blog and watching her youtube channel and watching my beauty wishlist grow! I particularly like it when she features new products from well known brands.

-Eat Play Shop Love
I love reading Charlie's blog especially for the food posts, who doesn't love seeing foodie pics? Charlie posts about a great mix of high end and budget beauty products and also has the odd great travel post. She has the perfect mix of beauty and lifestyle posts that I aspire to have.

-milk bubble tea
There are four things that make this blog amazing-
1. The beautiful photography
2. The home decor posts are so lovely
3. The most delicious looking recipes ever
4. Oscar. You just have to go and check him out. Cutest thing ever!

-Hello October
I love reading the Hello October blog and watching her youtube channel. The photography is beautiful and I love her write ups of her weekend days out.

Barcelona Best Bits

A few weeks ago me and a friend went to Barcelona for two nights for a mini break. We had a fantastic time and I wanted to share my best bits with you, this may be of interest if you are thinking of visiting or going somewhere else in Spain.

-The Beaches- Barcelona is a rare holiday destination with a city and a beautiful beach. The great thing about the beaches is that they are free, open and clean.

-The Sights- in the short time we were there we travelled around to see some of the famous landmarks of Barcelona. A personal favourite is the Sagrada Familia or 'drippy church' as we nicknamed it. The photos really don't do the craftmanship justice but the stonework is corroding and being restored.

-The Arc de Triomf- who knew there was an Arc de Triomf in Barcelona too? It's so beautiful and we came upon it by chance, the Arc is very near a large, beautiful park which was lovely to walk through too.

-Sangria!- I had never had it before as a non-wine drinker but loved it!

-Tapas- Something else that was new to me, on our second night we found a restaurant with a view of the Palau de Musica and the tapas were truly amazing. We had patatas bravas, empinadas, baked salmon, houmous and spring rolls. The restaurant was called Tosca (link) and I would recommend it to anyone.

-Gelato and Crepes- Technically Italian but we found an amazing gelato place called Dinos (link) for ice cream (dark chocolate, cherry and oreo) and nutella crepes.

Have you ever been to Barcelona? Any recommendations for my next short break?

'Enjoy the Little Things'

I know, it's been a long time! The last year,my first year of teaching, has really not gone to plan but things are on the up and more than ever it is important to 'Enjoy the little things'.

The first thing I've found is it's important to have reminders that it will all work out and that life is good, like this beautiful cushion. The second is to make time with friends and loved ones, whether its a Sunday chocolate twist, a drink at the pub with my Dad (mine's a Southern Comfort, lime and lemonade) or a full on afternoon tea- yum!

I also treated myself to a much-needed couple of days away at Easter to Barcelona which was amazing, the perfect mix of sunshine, sand, sangria and sights.
