Barcelona Best Bits

A few weeks ago me and a friend went to Barcelona for two nights for a mini break. We had a fantastic time and I wanted to share my best bits with you, this may be of interest if you are thinking of visiting or going somewhere else in Spain.

-The Beaches- Barcelona is a rare holiday destination with a city and a beautiful beach. The great thing about the beaches is that they are free, open and clean.

-The Sights- in the short time we were there we travelled around to see some of the famous landmarks of Barcelona. A personal favourite is the Sagrada Familia or 'drippy church' as we nicknamed it. The photos really don't do the craftmanship justice but the stonework is corroding and being restored.

-The Arc de Triomf- who knew there was an Arc de Triomf in Barcelona too? It's so beautiful and we came upon it by chance, the Arc is very near a large, beautiful park which was lovely to walk through too.

-Sangria!- I had never had it before as a non-wine drinker but loved it!

-Tapas- Something else that was new to me, on our second night we found a restaurant with a view of the Palau de Musica and the tapas were truly amazing. We had patatas bravas, empinadas, baked salmon, houmous and spring rolls. The restaurant was called Tosca (link) and I would recommend it to anyone.

-Gelato and Crepes- Technically Italian but we found an amazing gelato place called Dinos (link) for ice cream (dark chocolate, cherry and oreo) and nutella crepes.

Have you ever been to Barcelona? Any recommendations for my next short break?
